I'm trying to reduce the population of rock chucks on my property, specifically under my polebarn. I have been using my Allis 175 diesel with an underslung muffler (it gags me to stand behind it when it is idling. Anyway, not sure how well it is working, but seems to be less chucks around...and the holes appear to be dug back out from the outside (maybe they sent out a fatal chirp to their uncle to come dig em out). Anyway, I was talking to another guy who said he heard diesel fumes won't kill them, needs to be a gas engine??? Thoughts?
