I lost my beautiful German Shepard today. Mom though she had a stroke yesterday morning , and she quickly went down hill. She made it through last night, but she went to sleep for a nap today and didn't wake up.
I hate to say it, but it was for the better. I couldn't stand to see her suffer.
She was 16, and will be greatly missed. This is the first family death I've ever dealt with. It's amazing how you prepare yourself for something like this and it seems okay, but then when you hear the news, it hits you like a wall. Everything you thought would happen, and prepared yourself for, just goes out the window.
Really sad, but like I said, she is in a better place and is happy. And hopefully one day she will come back to me.
