My list for winterizing goes like this: charge battery either by running/charging or charging via battery charger to full charge and then disconnect one (1) terminal from the battery (either positive or negative) and leave in the tractor. A fully charged battery won't freeze and won't drain with one of the terminals off. I run some marvel mystery oil in the gas and run well to circulate throughout the fuel system, the oil prevents varnish much like STABIL does. I usually run a small amount of marvel mystery oil in the oil too for good measure. I spray linkages and moving parts with white lithum grease and clean and touch-up all nicks and rusty spots. Being that they are sitting for the winter months only, I don't jack the wheels up but may put boards under the rubber to sit on. I usually change the oil and grease before putting tractor away for the winter months. I cover the tractor with sheets and that is about it. I have done this for years with my 1974 John Deere 140 tractor and it never fails to start in the spring for me. One other thing, don't forget the mouse traps/poison bait to keep the little gnawing rodents out of your tractor, last year they chewed both thumbs out of a pair of cotton gloves I left on the tractor. See you in the spring.
