Last Saturday my farm boss that I work for in the Fall doing tillage work asked me if I wanted to join him and his neighbor for a annual tractor ride. My answer was a very quick YES! So Saturday morning came around, I got to the farm that was hosting the tractor ride and 8 a.m. There was some tractors already lined up waiting and more being hauled in on trailers as well. I met the gentleman hosting the tractor ride. He is a wonderful dairy farmer. Come to find out from him that this was his 12th annual tractor ride. He is a very avid Ford tractor fanatic! He had a few very nicely restored Fords on display and a few that various people drove on the tractor ride too. I counted 28 tractors for this small event. I had a blast! I can see why people have so much fun doing this! There were a variey of flavors of tractors on the ride. Fords, Fordson, Olivers, John Deeres, Allis Chalmers, IH, Farmalls, 1 new CaseIH tractor also. Sorry everyone, no Case, Molines, Cockshutt, Massey's, COOP's etc. This was a very good time for everyone who participated. I ended up driving the host dairy farmer's very nice Allis Chalmers WD. I really liked this tractor alot. I had a lot of memories of my old WD45 from years gone by. Sorry everyone, I do not have any photos attached. I don't know how to post them from my phone. :( I look forward to doing this again next year. Kow Farmer Kurt

Minus two kids, we traveled light with only the youngest in tow. As long as a pool was at the end of our destination she was easy to please unlike the other two who have a multitude of requirements to travel with mom and dad. Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
