I have cleaned a lot of cast iron carburetors with muriatic acid. Take the carburetor apart and dip each part into the acid for 10-15 minutes. flush with water and blow dry the parts. will look like new. Never dip aluminum, you will not have a part left. I have cleaned some carburetors that I thought they would never work again and they worked like new! Brian
