Mineral spirits and water will glabber up just like in your pix... Don't believe me go mix a batch... Diesel would have been a better moisture eliminator.. Mineral spirits would have been OK as long as you made sure no moisture was left in the system... Once you agitate Mineral spirits and water it glabbers up into a milk shake....
I spec that's a fine screen water is hard to get by it I would just keep pulling it out and cleaning it till it got better..
