I'm with Steve on this one. Anything is worth a shot. Wife drove across a hay field and then went home. Came home later from same field and followed an oil slick from the field to where her truck was parked. Pinion seal leaking and about whooped my tail changing it. Had to grind a socket down to get the nut off of the companion flange and then use a large puller to take the companion flange off. Told her next time she gets to change it. Good luck.
