I had a customer that almost got burned down when a haybine started his field on fire. I think it would be pretty hard to start one with a brush hog style mower. I think a lot of guys use it as an excuse to not mow when it is hot out. If you are hitting that many rocks and you can't look back and check when you hit something you shouldn't be doing that kind of work. Haybines, combines and balers are the main fire starters around here..or maybe an ember from a tractor exhaust. I just read the big fire in CA was started by a car with a flat tire!
