I can't exactly answer your question as I had a TO-20 gasser and it's been so long I don't remember the oil filter type, location or any of that. However, in answering the generic question about a conversion, a couple of years ago I did a Ford 3000. Bought a kit off ebay for about 35 bucks. Only question I had about it was whether or not the kit came with the large Oring that seals the adapter to the engine block....it doesn't show but it's in the kit.
Easy installation. Ford uses the Motorcraft FL-1A which WW stocks, otherwise if not noted, check the threads and the ID-OD for the gasket and you're in business. If you don't know maybe the UK guys on here can put you on the right spin on. Wix www gives a lot of useful data on filters.
