It is strange my dad past away two years ago. I remember when the people in the area would complain about the John Deere G being run in the day or the Farmall M. since my dad past on we sold the house and I kept all the old farm tractors. Just yesterday I bumped in to some people in the town who use to complain about the equipment being run. What is funny they miss hearing it in there area now and what is funny they told me they use to take for granted of the road being cleaned when it snowed. Dad would use the 1948 Farmall cub with the front blade Manuel lift on it to move the snow on the road just for every body could get to work in the morning. it was his thing that made his day L.O.L. We as farmers do forget that not every body have the work ethic in them. They love to complain but man when people like my dad past on then what they are use to is no longer there. that is a real wake up call for them (what I have to wait for a snow plow). My parents where like any other farming family help out those who are in need. they would tell us kids that is the best way to go. As we grew up we learned that giving a helping hand is the best way to go in life.

Minus two kids, we traveled light with only the youngest in tow. As long as a pool was at the end of our destination she was easy to please unlike the other two who have a multitude of requirements to travel with mom and dad. Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
