Hello to Pa folks. Jon from Montana here. We are pondering a trip to the Harrisburg area sometime in October. I know the weather has been a bit unpleasant there this summer, so I'm hoping things have cleared up by now. We would like to visit the Hershey theme park and factory, of course. (chocoholic here!!) Also would like to go to Lancaster to visit the Amish (Wife wants a quilt!!) and perhaps Gettysburg. I know there are many things to do around there. Maybe we can catch some fall colors, too. I believe there are some scenic (steam?) trains in the Harrisburg area. Are there any shows about that time or tractor type museums to see? We're open to most any suggestions. We're going to fly in and rent a car. The primary goal is to visit a former German exchange student who lives there now. Any help is greatly appreciated. Often local people are better informed than travel agents. It seems there are many things to do in that area that are only 60-70 miles from Harrisburg, and in this country, we drive that far for a good cup of coffee! Thanks. Jon K

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
