It's one thing to have a computer with an obsolete operating system just for the (really small) grand kids to play games on and unhooked to the web. If you are using a computer with an unsupported operating system on the web, you are asking for trouble. The hackers and scammers are just waiting for you. Just yesterday, my wife mentioned that there are people who were using wire transfers to put a $50,000 down payment down on a house and they got hacked and their money simply disappeared. Well, that's not quite accurate. Their money simply disappeared for their bank account and they couldn't get it back. As mentioned you can use Ubuntu on an obsolete computer and limp it along for a couple more years. If you are uncomfortable or unable to install this OS, perhaps your local high school computer science teacher would help. Running VISTA on the internet is a potential time bomb.
