In many cases, the "unsubscribe" button is a link to a trojan horse website that installs bad stuff on your computer.
If you did not subscribe to them, you cannot unsubscribe from them, and the more you try, the more they will send because they know they have a live one on the hook.
See if you can train your email program to detect them as spam and file them away, and if not, check with your Internet provider and see if they can be of any help.
