Not really too unusual, but about 5 years ago our township decided to save money and bought some gravel from a new source. Funny thing was that all these rocks were triangular, very thin, and were sharper than knives. At the last count, there were over 50 flats repaired and about 25 new tires were sold because people drove on about a one-mile section of this road. Hearing all the complaints, the township didn't buy any more gravel from that source. Happened about 30 years ago, but a high school buddy plugged the tractor-pulled swather and got out his trusty pocket knife to help clean it out. He lost his pocket knife and looked for it for over an hour. He gave up looking and found it after driving ahead about 10 feet. It was stuck in the rear tire of the tractor and ruined the tire.
