In the tire shop we saw gobs of things, the plastic filler out of a ball point pen stuck in the side wall of a teachers tire. Never figured out how it got there, during deer season a live 30:06 round, lots of wrenches, pliers, etc. I put a new set of Firestone 20.8X38'S on a 1586 one morning. I helped the old boy get hooked up to the plow. He called me about 2 hours later, he came back from lunch and found the right rear was flat. He had picked up a hay rake tooth that was laying in the bottom of the furrow. He stopped within 3 feet of picking it up. He said this was the first time the hay field had been plowed in years. The imprint of the rake tooth was still in the bottom of the furrow. The first rear I ever repaired had a deer antler in it. Again the guy found it as he came back from chow. Again RR tire. This time the deer antler went in ahead of the bar and came out behind the bar. The tire was not flat, the curve of the antler went in and actually went between the tire and tube. Heck I didn't even have to patch. the tube. And the stories go on and on.

Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
