No don't paint. JD did carry a special spray paint that was for putting equipment away so it wouldn't rust. Rust on a plow makes it a lot harder to pull till she gets all polished up. When I was a teen I used a wire wheel on a big drill and polished all of the rusty spots and joints were ever there was rust on the plow. That plow just settled in and tracked so nicely. About 1/2 a tube of grease would do the trick. Only thing that messed up my beautiful grease job was when the heifers broke the fence wire on the storage building. They liked almost all of the grease off it.
