I am new to restoring antique tractors and have recently purchased an R that is basically in pretty good shape - although not running. My question is about the clutch. I have looked up how to adjust the clutch and know to remove the inspection panel - rotate the engine to find the release button - put the tractor in a gear - release the clutch ------- at this point, the clutch won't release. Even though the lever is pulled back, when we crank the engine in gear, the tractor moves. It won't pull back any farther - it won't pull back any farther to release - so I can't rotate the adjustment disc. Where do I go from here to get the clutch to release and ultimately to be able to adjust the clutch?
