I get squash pie with real squash. Not that zuchinni fake squash. Yuck. The regular fall squash tastes the same as Pumpkin pie just a shade lighter color. Been eating it for decades. Mom was the queen of pie making. She used to make half a dozen or so when she made pie. If she got the chance she might get to either freeze one or give away. Most times we ate it all in a few days. Cutting wheat one early fall I was at the High Plains restaurant and ordered apple pie and a chocolate malt for breakfast.
