That sucker is an ear buster being short on an open station.
I found a super ear plug on ebay and am enclosing the address. These work so good that I have compared 3 things: 30 dB industrial rated ear muffs from HD, regular soft sponge plugs, muffs and soft plugs, these plugs alone, and these plugs and muffs......answer is that these plugs.....seated firmly against the ear drum, beat (or equal when used with muffs) all the others combined working alone.
Caution is that they are a 3 leaf assembly with 3 dead air spaces (one at your drum and two within the plug) and when properly installed are locked to your ear canal. To prevent ear drum potential damage, I lift the bottom of them slowly and wait to feel the vacuum release then pull on out. If you don't have them all the way down they don't work as designed so this is a small inconvenience for the performance.
They are on a lanyard and if you accidentally pull it out of one of the plugs (that I have done numerous times) just remove the plug from your ear and re insert the end of the lanyard.
Many more listed than this one, just type the subject into the ebay search engine and you'll find numerous. As you will notice, the 3 sealing rings creating 3 dead air spaces which is what kills the sound. You just can't beat a deal like this.

But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out. After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
