I don't know why everyone seems so down on WD40. Before we had WD40, we had pretty much nothing but 3 in 1 oil, kerosene and ATF. I still remember the first time I used WD40. My Dad had bought a can for the gun shop. He said, "Spray some of this in that hole." Worked great for freeing up whatever it was that was stuck. Later he got some Break-free and some G96 gun spray. Those 3 items got an awful lot so use at our place and replaced kerosene and ATF in a Windex spray bottle as a general lube.
