[/quote] Yes, swathing canola green is pretty typical here although some new varieties are claiming they can be left standing and straight cut without shelling out too bad. A few guys tried it here and it seemed to work. Swathing works fine for me. That 1988 video is really old school. I have not used that pull type swather in years. It would not handle the big bushy swaths of canola like this JD self propelled I use now. This video is a little more up to date of me cutting canola in 2014.
