In our climate in Pa, this a common problem no matter brand of trk you buy. Ford's later 6.2 that use larger 10mm bolts will do the same thing. I am a parts manager at a Ford garage we do all brands, lately a ton a Chevy 1 tons van & many times you need manifolds but is this Pa with calcium spread on all roads in the winter & on dirt roads in the summer.. for a 02 V10 all the hardware for both sides including the down pipe studs & nuts will cost 183.14, so 1/2 of that for one.. manifolds are thin & very costly from Ford for a V10. Van body with out a doudt are harder to do. We are a small store I've sold 256 of the 8mm mounting studs in the last 12 months. but they fit 4.6 5.4 & 6.8 engines for many years. & It's best to paint each spark plug thread with never seize when you install them, keeps the carbon from sticking to any part of the thread inside the combustion chamber. We are doing a Chevy 1 ton school minibus today. We use l/h drill bits & many times when drilling the stud will back right out of the head be for you drill through the whole stud.
