Since the small farms are producing the exact same product as the mega farms and big farms can do it cheaper then why isn't that a good thing? Small farms need to produce better quality more desirable products to get the consumers to pay more for their products.Many are doing that in my area BTW with on farm processing direct sales,organic dairies,pastured based dairying.One farm up close to DC has opened a dairy store on US 29 that sells ice cream,milk shakes and the like made of milk from their farm.
