We had the bank call us one time. They already had all that info, and I have already had the conversation with the wife about scam artists and giving out too much info. It seems there was a 1.29 cent charge at a tobacco shop about 3500 miles away. The bank said, if this was allowed to go through, the next withdrawal would be for much, much larger. We currently have three accounts set up. A primary checking account, savings that has no direct link to the checking and a credit union that has no checks on the account, no debit card has been issued and if you need the money, go for a drive. The primary checking rarely see's more than $2000 at one time. Why the credit union? I liked the time the banks computers went down. The bank doors were locked and that was that. Little bank people were all kinds of nervous. Funny, huh? It was a large, very large, bank also. Not Wells Fart-o.
