I went to a little different auction today. Old Highway 20 Auction service. Everything was in lots. It all sold inside with a large screen showing what lot was selling. Household stuff to farm equipment. Equipment was out side for you to look at. Household and wagon type stuff inside, either on tables or pallets. He moved right along. 242 lots starting at 10AM and done at 1PM. Online bidding but all buyer numbers and location showed on the large screen as the item was being sold.
Neat new building. The outside looks like an old barn with a covered entrance. The inside has the west wall looking like the outside of an old barn. Full old barn siding on the walls. The soffit is made to look like the eve and overhang of an old barn. The bottom has large limestone blocks that look like a real barn foundation. The auctioneer podium is a JD manure spreader with a desk on top of it. He has a cutout that has steps up to the podium. Only thing I did not like was a %5 buyer premium.
The estate was from a former dairy farmer. He dies 3-4 years ago and she just passed this spring. The equipment was not worn out from use. Some was real clean and other stuff was real rough.
Sales results: Case 1845C $9200 NH 273 baler with kicker $1500 Sitrex eight wheel Gaul wing style rake. $2000 JD 2840 tractor with a JD 148 loader. Rough tractor but loader pretty fair. $4000 White 6105 MFWD 3969 hr. $16000 White 2-155 4300 hours. not running but ran/used until steering motor failed. $2750 White 2-105 5900 hours. not running but ran until hydraulic pump failed. 90% Firestone radials on the rear. $3750 NH 489 Haybine, really low use, clean but paint faded $4100 JD 1710A 9 shank disk chisel, Low usage but weathered $900 NH whirl-a-feed blower in like new condition $325
Browning A5 16 gauge shotgun $695 but rough.
Would have bought the White 2-105 and 2-155 but I have more projects than I will ever get done now, so I do not need more.

Today's Featured Article - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
