Sad to hear this news from my sister. Not sure what happened to start the fire. Carl’s family took over the farm that was once the Leonard Zimmer farm where my maternal grandmother was born and raised on Zimmer Hill, just outside of Gallupville. My grandparents knew the Stolzenburgs well. My grandmother started keeping a diary in 1938. An entry for October 23, 1939 indicates that my grandfather pressed hay for them on that day.. Carl is going to be missed. Prayers for the family at such a hard time.
