Hello Folks and yes I am brand new to you site and the reason I signed up is I am looking at a tractor that I do not know much about and was hope some of you folks may be sill to share some of your wisdom concerning this machine?
I am getting into a lot of CRP land up to hopefully just under a section over the next couple weeks and the land does require some maintenance to keep it in compliance with the rules, in the past I have always rented what I needed and now I think I want to own my own equipment. I am looking at a 76 Case 1070 with 6500 hrs on it, the injector pump was rebuilt 2 yrs ago and the PTO was rebuilt this year, new clutches and seals. This tractor does have the power shift option and a 3 point, it also comes with a DUAL HI-lift loader with grapple and a really old dual stage snow blower. It has a set of duals that comes with it and the rubber there is marginal as well. The tractor is in very reasonable shape, no rust, engine runs very well, cab is straight and all glass is good. I was thinking of offering 8K and going to 8.5K if I had to? My question is this a good piece of equipment? are these tractors reliable, what do I need to watch out for?
Sorry for so many questions My Case days ended in high school plowing with a 930 so any ideas you may have would sure be appreciated!

I’ve noticed a few questions in the comment section that could pertain to hydraulic cylinders so I thought we could take a short look at this real workhorse of the circuit. Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
