He had a Ford there that belongs to another guy that I went to look at. Not too far from me but in Wisconsin. He must have had a dozen Ollies and a couple of big Whites in his sheds. Most of them packed too tight together and too dark to see as the daylight was fading to get more photos of. But I did get a few - for your viewing pleasure. He also had an old Oliver grain binder and a threshing machine that were fun to see. I guess he still uses the threshing machine every year for shows, etc. A couple of his tractors I liked the best was a very pretty 770 and a 1947 88 diesel serial # 137 if I remember right. Last one built the first year of production I think he said. His boys were standing by it so I told them to look like they OWNED it. Have to say they did a good job of that. I went with my pal Kenny who's been laid up of late. It was cold and a brisk wind to boot so the tour didn't last as long as I would have liked. And Ken was getting cold. I made an offer on the Ford but don't know if I'll get it. Doesn't matter. I don't need it and can walk away. Still had fun looking at some real nice tractors. Probably the last bit of tractor prowling for the year. I told the guy he should join here. I hope he does. He could tell you more about them than I.

It increased the farm productivity and, in general, made life easier because more work could be done with this 'mechanical beast'. My dad dreamed that some day he would have his own tractor with every implement he could get. When he rea
