I read your earlier post and wish you well on your search. Be patient and keep your eyes open and you'll find something soon. Around 1998 I bought 2 IH M's both were non-running for $500. It WAS a gamble but one of the M's had been running before the other one was a parts tractor. Ended up having to tear down the recent runner and overhaul it. Was able to sell both later on and came out okay profit wise. Bought an old H for $100 and parted it out, again made some $$. It doesn't always work out the way you might think so be prepared. Hauled both of the M's one at a time with a 4WD F-150, I didn't get in a hurry. Stopping is much more important than being in a hurry! There are any number of old tractors that would work for you, try to pick one that has the most bang for the buck, as mentioned earlier tires can be expensive as well as a major overhaul. Anti-freeze in oil is a problem, cracked blocks and heads can be an issue, so can getting a crank turned. Remember there are no guarantees in old equipment :-) Good Luck in your search!

If it would just start when I turn the key, then I would use it more often. In addition to a bad case of old age, most of the tractor's original electrical system was simply too unreliable to keep. The main focus of this page is to show how I upgr
