Did not want to hi-jack Dog's post below so will do my own. My Dad's older brother Raymond was at Pearl Harbor that fateful day Dec. 7 1941. He was on the cruiser Raleigh when the bombs started falling. They got hit by a torpedo in one of the boiler rooms and the ship almost capsized. The battleship Utah was next to the Raleigh and was hit hard by two torpedoes and capsized. After they got the Raleigh stabilized a crew was sent from the Raleigh with a cutting torch for the heard tapping sounds from the overturned Utah. They got one sailor out and the next day the crew was sent to the capsized battleship Oklahoma to same. I believe they got 39 out of that ship. My Uncle was a great guy-started as an enlisted man and worked his way up to full bird captain before he got out-he was in for 30 years. My middle name is Raymond and we named our son Raymond so the name lives on. My 2 brothers and I were all in the USN-so the tradition continued. GO NAVY---Tee

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
