There is absolutely no connection between a DB 770 built in England and a CASE 770 built in Racine Wis. Case dropped the Case-0-Matic trans in 1969, when the 70 series tractors were introduced and they had a 4 range- 3 speed Power Shift with shuttle reverse. In 1972 Case aquired David Brown to gain access to the European Market. Case incorporated the DB line into the Case lineup, and the Case 770 Agri King was dropped in 1973, inlue of the DB 1210 and 1410 tractors in the same HP range. All the DB's had Select-0-Matic hydraulic systems, which allowed operator to select Draft, Position, or TCU 3pt hydraulic functions. Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
