I don't know why but I do know the JD is made by Zetor. I would imagine JD is slipping them in through Zetor in South America. Our combines and combine parts still say JD on the box but they are shipped in from Argentina. Cheaper for business in America now, but the consumer still pays more.. We don't have any domestic equipment unless you call painted green and red tractors domestic. Ursus is building the mid range Massey now. I priced a Landini 70hp and it was almost twice what a Ford cost. Sad part is that the Ford is a Iseki made in Japan out of Tiawan metals. Mercedes Benz has a plant in Alabama now. I always thought a M-B was top of the line, but how can they claim old world craftsmanship if it's made in Alabama???? I'm not knocking Alabama, they do the best they can I guess, but they are'nt world famous for automobile technology and dang sure can't build a coo-coo clock.
