we have up to 100 to 150 roundbales in a 100 yard by 30 yard wide fence. we have used the electric fence wire(metal wire) and only use one strand the cows ahve never botherd it we use the tape for gates so as on a cold day with snow blowin' i dont run through it! we try to keep our hay at least 5 foot away seems like any closer the cows learn the have rubber necks and stretch out to get it!! if i ws you and since its only gonna be for hay i would put up a single strand electric fence wire and if possible get a 110 charger if not the soler one will work. john2510-3020
