I've never seen that picture. Chopping is not something I'd think of with a 2510! The picture I recall showed them on a rail car.
The first new 2510 in this area arrived at our farm in spring 1966, when I was just turning 11. I was so impressed, I couldn't believe the same company made it, that made the trade in, a 50! The big tractor up until then was an AC WD45. I was even more impressed years later when I learned how small the engine in that 2510 was. JD really cranked the HP out of that 180 cubic inches. Such a nice tractor, and being under powered for the size of it was remedied with the 2520.
The following spring, another new 2510 showed up at my uncles, who had traded his B for the 50 a year earlier! For many years they were a team, running NH bale wagons, and bean pullers as a pair.
Years later, when I was looking for that size tractor, I found a low hour 2520 gas. It's now a diesel, and it still pulls a six row planter.

Rollins, son of the landowner, used the tractor. In the winter 1985, while in his possession the engine block cracked and was unrepairable. He had told my father
