Pitch it.

First, it will be difficult to get it as straight a original. As a result, it will wear the bushing and seal. It may work for a while, but it won't contibute to long bushing and seal life.

Second, with a slight bend remainig in it after straightening it, the column stiffness will not be as original and will allow it to bend easier in the future.

Just replace the rod, bearing and seal. You shouldn't have to replace the whole cylinder.

If you do choose to straighten it, do as the other recommended and avoid "dinging" the chrome. Seals won't last long that way.
