Randy, I'm not at all involved in dairy up here. But I really appreciate that you took the time to look at these trade issues from the farmers perspective in Canada. The situation is very complex and personal feelings often get pulled in turning the trade issues into an emotinal argument. Thank you for your rational thoughts.
My crop has its own special problems due to industry wide oversuply and poor management... growers and handlers. It hard, but the farmer often gets blamed for making improvements Just to become more cost effective and consequently increasing yield thus adding to the problem ... a vicious circle at times. I'm not saying that the mega farms, BTOs, whatever you want to call them are right or wrong...that's a thread for another day.
I'm just a little guy like Philip. I'm about the same age as him and have young kids who probably won't end up being involved with the farm. It's tough when the margins are so tight there are times when you wonder why we do this. Any normal business would shut down and move on, but we have so much personal emotion tied to the family farms that we run them well beyond the point of logic.
I dont even know if anyone will read this reply its so far down, but sometime it helps me when I write these thoughts down... i think thats why Dwayn does it too.

Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
