The db level varied by tractor, some quieter than others. But the sound guard had the center post which even JD guys admit was a mistake. And the cab JD has before the sound guard which I think came in 72, was no better than a year around or cozy cab, and some say worse. Case had the first quality, quiet, and roll over protection cab by several years. Case was also first with all the controls on a side console.
