Philip d: There is a local non denomination church here that Got a new pastor 4-5 years ago. One of the most common sense man I have ever met. He made some changes to how the church was ran. 1) NO formal attire. He says clean respectable cloths is all that is needed. Jeans fine, shorts fine. He just jokes and tells the ladies to not show too much as then the men do not listen to his sermon. LOL His reasoning is Jesus never wore fancy cloths and God sends you into this world without any.
2) No offering plate passed. They put a box with a slot in the top out in the lobby. Drop whatever in coming or going. Never talks money in the Church worship area. everyone is welcome to come to the business meeting the first Tuesday night of each month.
Here is his results. The offering grew almost at once. The people coming tripled. They have added on to the Church twice and are having two Sunday morning services. He and his wife meet everyone at the door coming in. He can remember names like no other man I have met. We have gone several times in the last year after only being there once four years ago. He remembered my wife and my names and the names of our kids. So there are some good pastors out there.

The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
