You can put in the electric destocking kit. It will help with the starts. You more than likely have several issues going on.
1) Bad battery connections. The original setup that had the short cables that grounded to the dash/firewall was junk from the beginning. Replace them with two regular ground cables and run them down to the starter mounting bolts so you grounded to the motor block. Then If yours still has the original Positive cable that had one cable from the starter to the right battery. Then a short cable that jumped over to the left battery that was attached under the battery clamp bolt that is junk too. The left battery rarely helps provide much CCA. There is a newer style cable that has both ends made on one heavy cable.
2) You more than likely have an internal hydraulic leak that is making the pump stoke to full flow at crank speeds. Common as these tractors get older. Start the tractor and let it run. Check all the hydraulic systems and see if one heats up just setting there. Touch housings and lines to see in one is warmer than the rest.
3) How good is your starter???? A dragging starter will cause the same thing.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
