I'm doing a lot of work to my regular farm truck, a 98 chevy K3500. It's going to get the rear end overhauled, intake gaskets, exhaust gaskets, turn signal switch, ac compressor, and brake booster. With that truck laid up in the shop, I had to dust off the 68 GMC for farm work. With a new set of blue streak points, it was ready to pull the stock trailer and haul firewood. I was still having to feed with the tractor, and with cows on three places several miles apart, this wasn't ideal. I decided to rig up a spear on the old truck. I cut an old top link in half, and welded some pieces of pipe to the bed to slide the halves into. Then, it was just a matter of bolting on the spear and chaining on a winch. I still may pick up a cheap electric winch for this. It seems like it will work pretty good.

I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”. I’m par
