Yes, The Ford 801 Select-O-Speed is a live PTO. On tractors without live PTO (older in design), The clutch & trans directly control PTO output. When sitting still and trans in gear with clutch dis-engaged, PTO wont turn untill trans turns and vis verse, wont stop till trans stops. This poses a safty problem while bushoggin or mowing in that to stop tractor, blades and all must stop also that creates a pushing effect and in an emergency, can become dangerous (unless Your good at knocking PTO out). With Live PTO, Just push in clutch and hit brakes. Blades will continue to spin independantly.
