Thanks psimmer! I'm in SW lower MI. and appreciate your effort. We too are close enough to the big lake that we regularly get massive dumps of lake effect snow. I think rrlund is inland a little more than I, so maybe not as much lake effect for him. Usually this time of year we'd be walking on foot paths that if you drop off to the side you're in thigh deep. For several years I kept meticulous records and it wasn't unusual to get 10-12 foot per year. The last couple of years haven't been nearly as much. I understand we're supposed to get an artic blast this weekend, if we do it should give us some snow, that is if it comes out of the NW flowing over the warm lake water, and not just drop down from the north. I'm hoping for out of the north.
Don't bother me with your "winter storm warning" just because of 6-8".....let me know if it's going be a foot or more. 6" is just a dusting and 8" is a sneeze.
