Do some homework, lots of homework, you may be an easy mark for the unscrupulus dealer. Don't get in a big rush either, the stuff you want to do can wait without requiring a bigger machine later. Meanwhile, you can hire out the esential things (snow removal etc.) and watch how the equipment handles the job. If hay is in your future you will want at least 35-40 horsepower and live or independent PTO. Use the archives on this site to figure out the difference. With the kind of hills you mention, you should be looking for a "low profile" or "compact utility tractor" forget any tractor that requires "climbing" to mount. There is no limit to the amount of money you can waste in this hobby, so arm yourself with knowlege and patience.
