Farm tractors don't mix with logging very well.. High centers of gravity, lack of protection for the operator, lack of protection for the equipment itself. These are some of the reasons that most forestry equipment is 'purpose built'.. and way overbuilt.. Not to say that a guy can't clear land and skid logs with a farm tractor.. especially on flat land... but it's going to be a compromise and you'll need to be careful. This question is hard to answer without a better idea about what kind of mix of farming and forestry you have in mind, what your ground is like..how big the logs are, ... or how much money you have to spend. My first thought is.. An Oliver Cletrac (might be a good bet as these can have 3 point hitches and double for farm use) Whatever you do, a beefy rollcage and limbrisers are a must. Be careful out there.. logging is dangerous business... it's easy to get hurt or killed. -- bbott
