I have worked on and re-built rims for myself and others over the years. Once Cal. gets into the pores of the metal/rim it is virtually impossible to get out. Power washing and pouring boiling water onto rusted places doesn't work very well. I have spent hours working on rims and when the primer dries, salt will bead up out of the rusty spots. Having said this, I prefer windshield washing fluid. I can get it in drums for a dollar per gallon, so it isn't extremely expensive. Ellis
