What size mower for 1010 John Deere?

I recently purchased a 1010 John Deere diesel tractor that has 36 horsepower. Will it handle an older model 6' rotary mower that probably weighs 1,000 to 1,200 pounds or am I better off with a newer 5' medium duty mower that might weigh in at 500 to 600 pounds. The 6 footer seems very well made with heavier steel. Will my 3-point lift it and will I have trouble with the front end being lifted off the ground. No front end weights. To cut 1 to 2 inch saplings & weeds.
