Bruce it is easy to figure out. JD never made the machines. So they buy a model that is made by someone else and then think it is worth more because it is JD green. Then when they do not sell enough of them to make JD MBA managers happy they dump the line. I have seen it happen time after time.
JD just about bankrupted Rotomix with one of these deals. JD required Rotomix to powder coat there machine/model. So Rotomix build a big new building just to powder coat the machine. The trouble was the JD machine as the exact same as the Rotomix colored machine. The Rotomix machine sold for 20% less. So when JD did not sell hardly any of the machines that they told Rotomix they would sell JD dropped the deal. Left Rotomix hanging.
JDs Frontier line of equipment is the very same thing. every single thing in that line is just the same product as you can buy directly from the OEM company. Example: Woods made the three point blades. H&S makes the manure spreaders. You can buy both cheaper from Woods and H&S. The only place the Frontier line works is if you in an area that has zero OEM dealerships selling the product.
