Me and another feller consider ourselves a tractor club. We anticipated some more participants when we started this whole deal. Well thats been a few years ago and nobody showed any interests. We still have two members. Me president and him vice-president. Well sometimes we argue over who is president. These bigger clubs are always talking about insurance but I don't really understand how the insurance comes into play or why you would need it. If everyone operates there own tractors and equipment I don't really see the need for the club to buy insurance for accidents. Now, if you are giving hay rack rides and letting other people operate the different machines, then I could see the need for insurance. What are you trying to get tax exempt. I know farm related stuff in most states is considered tax exempt. A club or organization would probably not fit into the farm related part though. I just don't understand what kind of money transactions you are trying to get in under tax exempt. If you are talking about dues I would think it would fit under the same rules as all other clubs and organizations. We just get together every ounce in awhile and do something. If anything happens you are responsible individually for what you do. If you fall off of your own tractor and get run over, well that is going to be just to bad. If you let someone drive your tractor and tear it up, well that is just to bad also. I would like to know what is the real need for the insurance myself if there is one. If someone has a self inflicted accident than how could the club be responsible. Just keep everything individually self orienated. I would like to know the real purpose of insurance myself, and also the tax exempt part. We don't pay any dues. It is free to belong to our club. If you take part in something you pay for your own way. No suckering other people into paying dues and hopeing they don't participate so you can soak up the money. And I bet if the truth was known, we have more fun. When we get together it is all about you and your tractor, they way it should be, and not about the other guy on the tractor next to ya. And when we get together we both think our tractor is better than the other guys no matter what. A tractor club is not about sitting in a chair at some stupid meeting and paying dues. It is all about getting on your tractor and doing a demenstration for anyone willing to watch. But don't run over anyone becuase that would be just like hitting someone head on, in your own vehicle, across the center line and you personally will have to pay the consequences.
