Kermit: Good luck with your truck purchase. I bought my first one in 1975, and won't buy a front wheel drive car. Chrysler has not made a good auto transmission since the 727 of muscle car era. But who cares, as long as its warranteed. To my point. My 92 Plymouth Voyaguer with 60k on it is the last Chrysler product I will buy. Chrysler refused to warranty the paint which is peeling and rusting. Chevy and Ford had similiar problems, and gave the original owners new paint. My van has had several recalls for various things, and I have heard that a Reliant set the all time record for recalls. Then Chrysler was sold to Diamler, at a stockholder meeting an executive from Daimler wanted to know why they bought this scrap heap. 5.2, and 5.9 are both good engines, and I believe that you still get cast iron heads. Auto vs.standard tranny. Who knows. Standards have a hydraulic cylnder for the clutch, and guess where it is hidden, in the bellhousing of course. Unlike my former Toyota truck which had it outside the bellhousing. I sold my Toyota, but my brotherin law still has his 86 with 380,000 miles on it. Believe it or not he put rings and bearings in at 250,000 and didn't bore it. Good luck whatever your choice, there all warranteed.
