It makes no difference whether you stick with the same BRAND of oil or not. The QUALITY of the oil is the real issue. So while it seems like I favor your uncle's position, I myself use Mobil 1 synthetic oil in everything I own. The reason is simple. I happen to think it is the best, so I use it. I suspect your Dad may have felt the same way about Havoline and stayed with it for the same reason.
